She's ours forever

Today hope is officially ours forever. She is such a sweet baby. She's bonding, eating and sleeping well. She is so gorgeous and God has once again giving us a blessing we don't deserve,

A little bit about her. She's really tall and skinny. 18m pjs fit perfectly. She is still on bottles and formula but we've got her on some table food. She loves Gerber puffs. She would eat them all day. She's eating out of a bottle well and in the 24 + hours we have had her, her Pincher grasp is so much better.

She babbles and learned how to wave tonight. She loves any toy and congee. We've gotten some smiles and a few laughs. Things are going really well, in general.

Some prayer requests
The biggest is two part: isolation and missing our kids.

We are in a big city but almost no westerners. I saw an American couple in the elevator and wanted to hug them. We stick out and get a lot of stares. We are alone much of the day so finding food that is cheap and won't make us sick is a challenge. Everything is difficult. We have no wireless so if we want to skype or check email, we have to walk to Starbucks.

We miss the kids so badly. I can't even talk about them without crying. Pray that God would calm my heart.

Tomorrow we visit the orphanange. Its a long drive and I have been getting car sick. We're looking forward to seeing it.

Although I can't see the blog, I can see your comments. They get emailed. Please leave us some it helps our homesick hearts.

That's all for now. Thank you for your prayers.

Steff

  2. Congratulations! She is just perfect!
I am praying for you every day! I know the pain of being away from your children is just so great, but so soon you will all be together again with the wonderful new addition to your family! When we were adopting Annika we joked that you could always spot the adoptive families who had just arrived in Kaz by the sleep deprived, starved look in their eyes. It takes a bit to figure everything out! Wishing all of you all the best!

  3. Steph, we will continue to pray for you 3! :) I am already having anxiety about leaving our boys next week so, I can totally identify. Just remember to enjoy this time with Hope as this is your special bonding time with just her. When you get home its going to be CRAZY! :) And all too soon you will have all 4 of them hugging on you and be reunited as a new family of 6! :)

  5. Soooo thankful to see how the Lord has blessed your family! Hope is soo sweet and beautiful, we cannot wait to meet her. Adaira was soo excited when I showed her the pics and told her Hope's name, she cannot wait to meet her. Glad you had safe travels there and praying that you would be okay in the car rides to come. We are looking forward to having the boys here this weekend, apparently we are having a big "party" according to my kids! It will be fun. Praying for you as you miss them and that the Lord would calm your heart. We love you guys and are soo excited to welcome home your sweet little girl!

    Love, Dave & Heather

  6. Steph & Brian She is so beautiful. I am so excited that you finally have her and can't wait to meet her. As hard as it is to be away from the boys, soon you will be back together and will be complete as a family. I pray the carsickness goes away and that you find lots of food you can happily eat. Congratulations.

  7. She looks like a table tennis player to me! Since it's evident that she's a beautiful, precious little one, I'll post something different, something only Brian would appreciate. When reading your blog post I thought her name must be "Today Hope." Hope being her middle name and Today her first name. Ah! The communication gap that takes place acrossed the globe. Back to being serious, we will continue to pray for all that you have mentioned and eagerly anticipate meeting her in person. Having the two of you back will be nice also:)

  8. You don't know me, but I've been following your blog for some time. (I found you on Storing Up Treasures). I have been praying for this day to come and am so excited for your family! Try to enjoy this time for what it is, even though you are so far from the rest of your family. Gosh, I am just so excited for you as you begin this new chapter! My thoughts and prayers continue to be with you on this journey! :)

  9. Steph and Brian,
She is absolutely beautiful!! The pictures of her just made me cry to think how overjoyed you must feel to finally be with her!! We will continue to be praying for your time there. As well as for your family while you are separated. It will be well worth it all when God reunites you all together as a family!!! Sending our love!!

  11. Hello Guys,

We are so happy for you guys, it must be a great feeling to know that she is yours. We're glad that things are going well with her and that she is making so much progress. We had a nice time with your boys and mom tonight, they look like they are all doing well. They had a great time chasing each other around our house. Hopefully they'll be come back next Tuesday for dinner again. Have a great day!
